Why Filter Water, When The Bottleless Water Cooler Dirties The Water Again With Bacteria Cells?

All types of bacteria multiply rapidly in damp environments. The inside of point of use water coolers are perfect for them. Also, a carbon filter is perfect food for water bacteria, so they start multiplying rapidly as soon as tap water goes through them.

If you're using carbon filters, there's no way around the bacteria problem. Most are HPC bacteria, which for the most part are considered harmless. Although studies have shown that they can cause digestive problems in sensitive people.

But some filters tested have shown colonies of more dangerous types of bacteria like Legionella. There's really no way that you can control this. Since tap water always carries a large variety of bacteria, about 1/3 of the water coolers in your fleet will get pathogenic bacteria. A recent study showed 36% of home and 28% of office water coolers had at least one type.

In normal use, if water quickly runs through the filters, it isn't picking up tons of bacteria. But enough to contaminate the bottleless water cooler if it's allowed to sit there for many weeks without cleaning.

Over time, these bacteria picked up from the filter develop biofilm slime, which greatly multiplies their numbers in the bottleless water cooler, leading to potentially dangerous levels of bacteria in the water.

That's why regular bottleless water cooler cleaning is necessary. At the rate bacteria colonize point of use water coolers it should be cleaned at least once a month. Preferably twice. However, both you and I know that this is not at all cost effective. That's where ozone steps in.

Ozone quickly breaks down bacteria, fungi and viruses, as well as residual chemicals from the water. By running the ozone sterilization process every week or two, the bacteria is not given a chance to populate the point of use water coolers in any great number.

Our Glacier Stream can be set to run as often as you like. If you want to disinfect daily with one long session in the middle of the night you can program it to do that. Or it can be made to run several times a day. Or once a week. It's up to you.

This solves the problem that carbon filtration causes by being an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. No bottleless water cooler will ever be 100% bacteria free. But by preventing biofilm formation, the count is kept very low. A fraction of what it would be otherwise.

It doesn't matter if you're using 1 micron filters, the bacteria still gets through into the point of use water coolers. 1000 can fit onto the tip of a pin. So they're always flowing into the bottleless water cooler, and will be there in small numbers. But there's a big difference between that and a thick colony pasted all over the bottleless water cooler wall interior. Ozone gets into all the nooks and crannies of the bottleless water cooler. And does a more thorough job than any manual cleaning can do. And it doesn't leave any residues like cleaning agents.

But the best part is that you don't need to do any manual cleaning at all. Let's be honest, costs are climbing every year, and keeping bottleless water cooler clean by hand is an unnecessary and expensive task. The difference you pay for a self cleaning bottleless water cooler quickly pays for itself.

And it's an incredible selling feature. Especially when your customer finds out that bacteria grows quickly in point of use water coolers. And that the bottleless water cooler should really be cleaned every two weeks. It's either hire someone to do the cleaning. Or rent a bottleless water cooler with self cleaning functions.

Which is where you step in with powerful ozonation. Our continual automatic self cleaning function strips the bottleless water cooler of any bacteria, fungi or viruses, and prevents them from developing any substantial levels.

Our Glacier Stream point of use water coolers are commercial grade machines designed for the rental market. They feature ease of servicing and refurbishment as well as a long life.

We use an uncommon sturdy metal frame construction that allows for easy replacement of worn panels. The heavy duty steel construction makes this bottleless water cooler look more like a solidly built pop machine than a regular water cooler.

We also have a “no loophole” 5 year warranty. Our quality is excellent and we test our point of use water coolers thoroughly.

Why Most Ozonation Spells Trouble

Something that's not discussed often is the fact that ozone is recognized by the EPA as a toxic pollutant. It's well known to have serious side effects to people inhaling it.

The EPA has set legal limits for medical devices, which are only allowed to emit 0.5 parts per million of ozone into the air.

Because this law technically only applies to medical devices, a lot of companies are using a legal loophole to sell their ozone emitting products that produce more ozone into the air than the medical device limit of 0.5 parts per million. But it may only be a matter of time, before the government applies these rules to household appliances as well. Especially since the interest in clean air steadily increases with each passing year.

Just to put this figure into perspective, the government has classified outdoor ozone pollution of 0.85 to 0.104 parts per million as unhealthy for sensitive individuals. Which is 5 times lower than the medical limit. And the highest category for outdoor pollution is 0.125 to 0.404 ppm. At which level they say its dangerous to even breath the outdoor air.

So even the EPA level of 0.5 ppm is already incredibly high. And some manufacturers are just slapping ozone generators into their bottleless water cooler without providing any ozone destruction mechanism!

We've made our Glacier Stream point of use water coolers to be compliant with the strictest of government regulations for ozone. It's the only water cooler compliant with OSHA and UL requirements for ozone emission into the ambient air, which is less than 0.05 ppm of ozone.

Ozone in point of use water coolers is a fantastic idea. But only when the ozone is safely destroyed inside of the bottleless water cooler. And the machine doesn't allow the majority of it to escape. There are some bottleless water cooler ozonating systems on the market that don't have any ozone destruction mechanisms. And therefore allow toxic ozone to spew into the air. Which can be really bad if the windows of a house are closed.

There is one quick way to tell if the bottleless water cooler equipment is emitting too much ozone. During the ozonation cycle, you need to smell the air around the bottleless water cooler. If you can smell the ozone, then it's too much.

How Can Ozone Damage Your Health?

When it is inhaled it damages the respiratory system due to its strong oxidation capabilities. The same ability that allows it to rip apart bacteria, fungi and viruses, is the same ability that causes it to damage sensitive lung tissue.

It can cause people to cough, and give breathing problems. It can make asthma conditions worse. It is a well known fact that when outdoor ozone levels are high, asthma patients have more frequent attacks, since the ozone makes people more sensitive to allergens.

It is known to cause inflammation and death of surface lung tissues exposed to the ozone. And can irritate chronic lung diseases like emphysema and bronchitis. It also speeds up aging of the lungs. And can prevent proper lung development in children.

As a result, ozone should be treated with the utmost respect. Since this information is freely available to the average person, just by doing simple web searches. The best course of action is to only provide them with an ozonating bottleless water cooler than has a mechanism for destroying ozone.

Our Glacier Stream point of use water coolers have a patented method for destroying the ozone before it leaves the bottleless water cooler. We passed a stringent test that only allowed 50 parts per billion or less emitted per hour.

So with our Glacier Stream point of use water coolers you get the benefit of ozone self cleaning. But without the dangers of high levels of ozone inhalation. And when the government starts enacting regulations for home appliance emission levels, you won't have to worry that your Glacier Stream point of use water coolers won't pass.

Also not all bottleless water cooler manufacturers realize that you need to use special materials to build your water cooler when you use ozone. Because ozone is a powerful oxidizer, it can wear down common water cooler materials faster than usual. Which can eventually lead to leaking point of use water coolers. We use ozone resistant materials throughout our bottleless water cooler. We don't take any shortcuts with cheap materials. But have designed our point of use water coolers to last 25 years.

Our corona discharge ozonator, O3Pure™, has a powerful output of 0.6 mg/hr and efficiently diffuses ozone throughout the large capacity, hermetically sealed tank. To avoid ozone emissions into the air the Glacier Stream bottleless water cooler has a built in ozone destructor, OzoneTrap™.

The ozonator is factory preset. But besides daily disinfection, periodic shock treatment with larger doses of ozone can be programmed. Glacier Stream’s microprocessor, among other functions, includes programmability for time, frequency and duration of O3Pure™ disinfections.

For example, in an office use application, the solenoid taps can be locked out from midnight until 8 AM to allow for robust self cleaning and enough time for the taste of ozone to disappear from the water. On the weekends, even larger doses can be programmed with a lock out time of 24 hours.

During the lock out period the alphanumeric display will show a message reading “Please wait for X hours. Sanitization is in process”.

The UV bulb and ozonator are the highest quality, and have a long lifespan. So you won't need to change them as frequently as with other point of use water coolers.

The One Area Water Cooler Ozonation Doesn't Reach

Faucet mouths are notorious for harboring bacteria. It's difficult for the user to remember to clean the spigot mouths frequently, if ever. Glacier Stream automatically sanitizes this area with the use of UV light. The hot, cook and cold taps are sanitized by the UV bulb, which is bent to curve around the taps, allowing maximum exposure area. The light runs long enough every day to kill any accumulated bacteria and viruses.

The front panel has a protrusion around the tap mouths, it acts as a reflective and protecting shroud for the UV light. As well it makes it difficult to touch the faucets with the mouth of a water bottle; which stops the spread of bacteria before it can start.

Steriltap comes factory preset. However, it can be left on at all times, or programmed to start and stop at predetermined time intervals or in conjunction with other bottleless water cooler functions.

When businesses pay good money for a water cooler, they want ice cold water all the time. Anything else doesn't cut it.

People rent point of use water coolers because they want cold water. Otherwise, they can just get regular reverse osmosis water filtration systems with faucet mounts.

The problem is that most point of use water coolers do a terrible job of chilling water. Especially in an office or other high use environment.

That's because the basic water cooler technology is flawed. It chills the water in the reservoir. Usually taking at least 30 minutes to an hour to chill the whole tank. But once that water is emptied, and warm water comes in. It again takes 30 min to 1 hour to chill the water.

So there is a whole period of time when the water cooler isn't dispensing suitably chilled water. And if the water cooler is being used constantly, say every 5 minutes, then the water cooler never has a chance to chill the water down. Since a fresh blast of warm water is coming in every 5 minutes.

3 top selling water coolers were tested by drawing out 16 oz every 5 minutes, for 1 hour. It was found that only the initial 16 oz were under 50°F. After that, the water was above 50°F, and wasn't able to recover its chill.

We use ice chill technology. Which forms a huge block of ice in the cold tank. As warm water comes in, its instantly chilled. Like pouring warm orange juice in to a glass filled with ice.

We had the only water cooler that was able to pass the 5 minute 16 oz draw test. No one else came close. We make 4 gallons (15 liters) of water under 50°F per hour. That's 64 cups an hour. That means that every minute of the hour someone can come and get a glass of water.

And in what office does that happen? If you have 300 people in an office, how many of them are getting water in an hour? Some people have their coffee, others pops. Some even bring their own water. So much less than 300 use the bottleless water cooler each day. And most people only go a couple of times a day.

So the Glacier stream with its 64 cup an hour production rate can supply the largest of offices with a continual stream of ice cold water.

With ice chill technology, any office can be supplied with ice cold water. Which means no complaints. And a higher rental retention rate. If everyone is happy with the ice cold water. Then they won't want to trade the bottleless water cooler in for an inferior one.

Especially if they are told about the ice chill feature. If its explained to them just how well it chills, they won't even think about switching to another service.

Ice cold water just tastes better. And no one will ever complain that the water isn't cold enough. Most point of use water coolers claim to make 50°F water like it's a big accomplishment. Water from the fridge is more like 40°F. That's what people expect when they want a cold glass of water.

But even 50°F is a weak claim for most point of use water coolers. As they quickly run out of that, as mentioned above. Our ice chill technology not only makes high volumes of water. But because it has the chilling effect of ice in a glass, the temperature is significantly less than competitors. It's usually around 36°F to 40°F, which makes a huge difference in taste. Most of the time cold water is about 1/2 of the way from room temperature to freezing. We're about as close to freezing as you can get. Which is immediately obvious to the drinker. You won't ever get complaints that the bottleless water cooler is cooling enough.

And since reverse osmosis water isn't like spring water. In the sense that there are no mineral salts to contribute to flavor. The ice cold temperature makes a huge difference in taste. People really won't be able to distinguish between reverse osmosis water and more flavorful spring water.

That's one of the main reasons they fill your glass up with ice at restaurants when they give you tap water. Because at room temperature it tastes terrible. But the ice masks the off flavors. Of course with reverse osmosis water it's not a matter of off flavors. But the lack of flavor is more noticeable when its warmer.

Your customers will be be hard put to find a bottleless water cooler as capable at cooling as this one. In fact, we urge you to test the chilling capacity of our bottleless water cooler against anything else on the market. All you need is a thermometer. Instant read ones are the best for the most accurate temperature measurements.

Then you just pour a cup out of our bottleless water cooler every minute and measure the temperature. Mark down the results. Also do this with any other coolers. And then compare the results later. You'll be shocked.

Many companies claim incredible chilling capacities, but when a real test is performed, somehow many of them end up short. This is also the case for energy use statistics. These are a little harder to measure, but if you ever want to test this yourself, send us an email, and we'll give you the instructions.

Save Thousands In Life Cycle Costs

Our Glacier Stream coolers are designed to maximize savings. The upfront cost of the cooler is one thing. But the real money is spent after the cooler is purchased. Most money is mainly spent through service costs. Which we've designed the cooler to eliminate the need for.

10" filters: Large 4 stage reverse osmosis water filtration systems with standard 10" filters. Most point of use water coolers use small specialty filters. Our large filters reduce the number of service calls by at least half because they last so much longer. This amounts to a huge savings over the lifespan of the cooler.

Real World Savings: "If you normally change filters four times in a year, then you will only need to do so twice a year with our larger filters. Based on a cost of $75 a service call, this equals $150 a year in savings, since you have to do 2 less service calls. Over a 25 year cooler lifespan, this amounts to $3,750 in savings. If you have a fleet of 1000 coolers, this amounts to $3,750,000 in savings, over 25 years (or $150,000 a year)."

"Many specialty filters used in other point of use water coolers are expensive, low capacity, and hard to obtain. The cost of our 10" filters are considerably less. The yearly savings on the less costly filters can be $50 or more. Over the cooler lifespan, this is $1,250."

Easy to change filters: It is a simple task to unscrew our housings to replace filters. Our uniquely designed housing bracket has the water lines organized on top for more room and no mess.

Steriltank: is an automated ozone sterilizing system for your reservoir and drinking water. It eliminates the need for semi-annual cleanings of the water reservoir.

Real World Savings - "Based on a cost of $100 per cleaning, this amounts to $5,000 in savings over a 25 year lifespan."

"We have designed this bottleless water cooler in a way to save you money. If you combined the requirement for less service calls, the cheaper filter replacement costs, and the savings from no yearly cleanings, you would be saving about $10,000 over the life of a cooler. If you have 1000 point of use water coolers on rental, this amounts to $10 million in savings over 25 years, or $400,000 a year."

Read world savings "Many point of use water coolers are built with a 5 year lifespan. You would need to buy 4 more of them during the 25 year life cycle of our cooler. If each unit costs $500, then replacement costs would be an additional $2000."

Electronic System Control

Mini Computer: Just like a DVD player, our factory preset mini computer automatically controls cooler functions.

If desired, the settings can be easily reprogrammed. A wide variety of functions are available for dealers, such as programming the dealer name, telephone number and customizable billing options. For example, track water usage, and charge customers by the gallon.

Time Savings Filtration Feature

Needle valve: the reverse osmosis housing has a built in needle valve for accurately adjusting the reject water flow rate. Fine adjustment will maximize reverse osmosis water output and keep your expensive reverse osmosis membrane clean for longer. Its useful life will be extended and replacement will not be as frequent.

It is easy to make super fine adjustments. This simplifies the usually difficult task of adjusting reject water flow rates.

The clamp lock prevents accidental upsetting of the adjustments.

What A Disappointment, Expensive Rentals with Dribbly Water Flows!

How many point of use water coolers have you used that slowly dribble water out of their faucets? It's so common, it can even be called an industry standard. People expect water to slowly fill their glasses.

Do they like it? Hardly so, but they've learned to live with it. There isn't any other option, right?

Imagine if you have a cooler to offer that fills glasses almost as fast as the sink at full speed. Our Glacier stream fills a standard 8 oz cup in 2.9 seconds. This bottleless water cooler feels like industrial equipment.

When someone pays good money for excellent filtration, they can really feel cheated with lukewarm chilling, and a dribbly faucet. You can stand clear above the crowd with ice cold water all the time, and glasses filling seconds after the faucets are opened.

It may seem like a small thing, but when your customer give it a try. They'll feel that their hard earned money was well spent on a quality product.

Is This Bottleless Water Cooler To High End For Smaller Offices?

Many wonder if a bottleless water cooler as powerful and full featured as this will appeal to smaller offices. After all, isn't it overkill?

That's not how a small office sees it. This is one of the best looking, industrial type point of use water coolers on the market. It's full featured, and has impressive self cleaning functions.

A small office doesn't always have the cheapest stuff. They often have expensive computer systems, although they could probably use a 10 year old computer for most of their work. Likewise, I've seen many expensive photocopiers in small spaces. It isn't the size of the office that determines the size of the water cooler.

For whatever reason, sometimes for a more professional appearance, small companies often have expensive appliances or leased equipment. So the Glacier Stream has a wide appeal. Especially if they want something that looks high end.

The Glacier Stream is a very tall cooler, with high faucets to make pouring easy for even tall people. The best selling one by far is the silver model. It has a special stainless look paint that comes very close to the real thing. That combined with the modern look, and computer panel, makes this a very upscale looking bottleless water cooler.

A client of ours sold the Glacier Stream against a top competitor and was successful in 100% of the cases. The looks definitely played a part. Along with the heavy duty output from the ice chill and steaming hot water tank.
